The British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) has today held their 70th Anniversary at the Royal Albert Hall, London. Celebrating the EE British Academy Film Awards.
The British Academy of Film and Television Arts is an independent charity that supports, develops and promotes the art forms of the moving image by identifying and rewarding excellence, inspiring practitioners and benefiting the public.
Tonight’s Awards are hosted by Stephen Fry. Nominees confirmed to date include: Amy Adams, Barry Jenkins, Dev Patel, Emma Stone, Hugh Grant, J.K. Rowling, Ken Loach, Kenneth Lonergan, Laia Costa, Meryl Streep, Nicole Kidman, Ron Howard, Viggo Mortensen and many others.
Presenters and other attendees confirmed to date include: Andrea Riseborough, Bryce Dallas Howard, Carmen Ejogo, Daisy Ridley, Eddie Redmayne, Ella Purnell, Ewen Bremner, Felicity Jones, George MacKay, Holliday Grainger, Isabelle Huppert, Jamie Dornan, Julia Stiles, Lin Manuel Miranda, Luke Evans, Sir Mark Rylance, Noel Clarke, Noomi Rapace, Penelope Cruz, Rafe Spall, Riz Ahmed, Russell Tovey, Simon Pegg, Sophie Turner, Stanley Tucci and Thandie Newton.
Their Royal Highnesses The Duke, BAFTA’s President, and The Duchess of Cambridge will also attend the Awards.
As previously announced, Mel Brooks is to be honoured with the BAFTA Fellowship and Curzon is to receive the Outstanding British Contribution to Cinema Award.
